A jumping castle should bring pure fun to your party, not last-minute stress. When families understand the hire process, everything runs smoothly and the kids can just jump, bounce and enjoy the adventure.
Hiring a jumping castle in Australia is one of the easiest ways to add instant fun to a party. The moment it’s inflated, the excitement kicks in. Kids line up. Parents relax. The event feels alive.
But what does jumping castle hire actually involve? What happens after you book? And what do you need to check before delivery day?
This guide walks you through the full process so you can plan confidently, from first enquiry through to collection.

How Booking a Jumping Castle Works
Not all bookings follow the same pathway, and understanding this early avoids confusion.
Dry Hire for Backyard Parties (Book Online)
If you’re planning a backyard birthday party, dry jumping castle hire is the simplest option. You select your inflatable, choose your date and send a booking enquiry online via our jumping castle hire page.
This system is designed to be convenient and secure. It’s ideal for home parties where access and power are straightforward.
Events (Call or Email the Office to Book)
For larger events, such as school fetes, community celebrations or corporate gatherings, bookings are handled directly by our office team.
In these cases, it’s best to Contact Us or call the office so we can guide you through what’s suitable for your event.
Not all services are offered at all parks, and some locations have specific requirements. A quick call or email ensures everything is aligned before the day arrives.
Mechanical Bulls and Feature Rides
Mechanical bull hire and larger inflatable features are also booked through the office. These units require careful planning around access, space and safety, so we manage those bookings directly to keep things smooth.
Before You Book: Site Preparation and Access Checks
This is the part organisers often think about the day before the party. It’s much easier to check early.
Every jumping castle must be transported from the truck to the setup area on a trolley. The units are wide once moved into position, which means there must be clear, practical access from front to backyard.
Stairs aren’t suitable. Narrow side paths can cause issues. The walkway needs to be clear of air conditioners, gas bottles or any obstacles that reduce width. If something blocks the path, it needs to be moved before delivery.
Surface type also matters. If the jumping castle is set up on hard ground, additional sandbags are required for secure anchoring, and this incurs an additional fee. This isn’t about convenience, it’s about stability and safety.
A quick check of space, surface and access before booking prevents last-minute stress.
Power and Logistics on the Day
Power setup depends on where your event is taking place.
For backyard bookings, we supply the extension cord as part of our jumping castle hire service. You simply need a working power point within reach of the setup area.
For park events, the arrangement is different. Council power is not used onsite. A generator must be hired through Jolly Jumps, and this should be confirmed during the booking process.
You’ll also need to secure your park permit directly through your local council:
Book a Park in Gold Coast or Book a Park in Brisbane.
If you’re unsure whether your park location is suitable, it’s always best to call or email the office before confirming.
Payment and Confirmation
To secure your jumping castle hire, a deposit is required to lock in your date and selected unit. Full payment must then be completed prior to the event.
Clear payment timing protects your booking and ensures the equipment is reserved specifically for your party.
Delivery, Setup and Arrival Updates
Prior to your event, you’ll receive a text message with your delivery arrival time. This gives you a clear expectation of when the team will arrive.
Once onsite, our team positions the jumping castle, anchors it securely and connects power. You don’t need to inflate, secure or manage the equipment yourself. When setup is complete, the jumping, bouncing and excitement can begin.
During the Hire: What You’ll Receive and Who to Contact
All handover and safety details are provided in your order confirmation email. This outlines usage expectations and supervision requirements in simple terms.
If you need assistance on the day, you can contact the office on 1300 1300 11. Our team is available if questions arise.
Pack-Down and Collection
Prior to your event you will receive a text message on your estimated time of pack-down. The team handles deflation, packing and safe removal of the jumping castle.
There’s nothing you need to dismantle or store. Once collection is complete, your space returns to normal.
Changes, Weather and Cancellations
Outdoor events in Australia always depend on weather. Before your party, it’s a good idea to check the Bureau of Meteorology forecast.
If a customer cancels on the day for any reason other than safety, the full hire fee is forfeited. This policy keeps bookings fair and protects scheduled service commitments.
